Nope, I haven't forgotten-I've been a tad busy sorting these out.

Although the hype for the Cherry Blossoms in DC have died down and the peak has come n gone, I still have my experience to share. I've been sorting through how I wanted to present them and got distracted with life n work. **BULLSHYT ALERT** Translation: Overthinking the presentation!! Maybe one day, I'll be one of those content creators that publish fresh n hot off the press and not wait weeks on end, lol. The beauty in later vs now is...I get to review the footage and relive the moment all over again.

This year, I knew I wanted to do it differently. Once the news started tossing out teasers, I came up with the idea to just catch em in different phases which meant, I'd need to make the drive to DC every other weekend or so until peak bloom. Let me just say...it was quite boring yet intriguing at the same time. I'm used to seeing them at peak in its full glory so to see some naked trees was less appealing. The trip around the tidal basin was less crowded and by Phase 3, I fully came into the assignment.

From beginning to end, to see how it started with buds forming on the branches and going through the phases as they start to show some color and florets start to extend. The anticipation in between was exciting to know they'd soon stretch n separate into fluffy clouds of blossoms come full peak!

Granted all this is at the mercy of the weather and this Winter showed us we don't know no na'an. I did attempt to catch a sunrise but failed (maybe next time). That was also an added trend this season with small groups gathering along the TB to witness the sun rising upon the Pink Blizzard. The hype has certainly grown since I started n the crowds have gotten bigger n bigger making manuvering downtown to see them a hassle ESP with parking.
Now of course, I have so many pics throughout my CB season and it will be shown as they did me-in phases! In the meantime, for all things I've done in the previous years with blossoms; feel free to catch up ----> here. I will drop the next phases in the upcoming week.
