My newfound love is randomly finding the goods on Amazon. I get a lot of picks based on previous buys or casual encounters when my brain wonders which leads me to the search bar...down a rabbit hole I go. So what's in this haul? Dainty Bags!! I am NOT a fan of the #MicroBag trend becuz I'm loyal to totes n I just haven't seen the point of them. Fortuitously, here comes this wittle laydee. Truth be told, I was initially going for the gold heart one ...which...maybe sooner than later but I pondered on these mini's. It was the pearl handle that sold me. Although it comes with a long crossbody chain, I like the idea of wearing one or the other. More than likely, I'll wear both chains (detachable). Perfect as an evening bag or daily wear. Speaking of the wear...let me warn u...this bag is strictly for show. Yes, the stunt of it all. It's a magnetic closure which would've worked so much better if it worked like a coin clasp at the top. While the stainless steel is durable, anything heavier than a plastic chapstick tube, ID n 2 nickels to rub together would have u busy with squats to pick em up as it falls out. So Dainty!! I am a sucker for snake prints. What sold me was the barrel shape. I am trying new thaaaangs with this one. It has detachable straps to wear as a crossbody, shoulder or simply as a handbag with the chain strap. As faux as the bag may be...it still has a richness to it with the look and the gold hardware is. a cute touch. You'll be happy to know, u can fit more than contents of a micro bag in this one. This barrel would be perfect for weekend runs and the shade makes it neutral enuff to go with just about anything. There's a sister to this bag-----> here and I will be coming for that one later. So Dainty!! This beauty here came by way of a fellow blogger, Kim @workslayplay who found this belle. I love structured bags that have definition. The shape of this is out of the ordinary n gives a vintage look to any outfit. This is a unique bag at a GREAT price point which makes it fun to play with when dressing up. It'll add a different dimension to an A line dress or casual look of a blouse n jeans or trousers. The straps do adjust to go longer if you wanna use it over the shoulder-I carry my bags by the top handle. The feet on these reminds me of vintage bags back in the day n the hardware of the closure is Art Deco!I have big plans for this shade n also anticipating grabbing it in black (on sale) as well. U really can't go wrong with any of the shades offered----> here . So Dainty!! Of these 3 dainty beauties, it's hard to choose a fave. They each will make great additions to my stash n serve great purpose. Dainty Bag 1 to stunt on u heaux, even tho I'll definitely need pockets. Dainty Bag 2 for Errand Couture and Dainty Bag 3 when I wanna get professional on u n feel like an attorney on u heaux...I object yo honor, lol. If I had to pick one, I'd go with Dainty 2 becuz it's a casual bag to go from day to night n not over power ur look. Let me start off setting the tone for this post with explaining the title...Rogue in Ruffles! The intro pic alone is what represents the "rogue". Why? Becuz although the general reader's eye isn't geared to focus beyond the focal point (me), as a content creator what I was "suppose" to do was trim off the trash can photobombing near the bag, lol. Now that I've brought that to ur attention to where u can't unsee it n more than likely wouldn't have noticed it had I not pointed it out; let's get to the Ruffles of it all :D To tailgate off the rogue-ness...I can promise u although it may not look like it...I most definitely STEAMED TF outta this dress n between leaving the house n the car ride, my hard work from last night looks to be in vain. Again...general readers eyes vs creators eyes. Trust it didn't stop this show and u gonna get these ruffles. During Spring of this year, I attended an event Jess of Cappuccinos and Consignment hosted in DC by c.a.t.walk_boutique which is always a grand time of laughter, mingling, champs and SHOPPIIIIIIING!! It was there where I'd try on this gorgeous dress n fell in love. Rogue in Ruffles Couture: This 100% linen dress by way of Lorena Laing of Australia is hand crafted with a technique giving its unique look. I absolutely LOVE how it's a simplistic dress that can be worn front or back (versatile) yet the details with the tie around the neck line and the buttons that cascade down the middle. My favorite part of this dress which takes the simplicity up a notch is the ruffled sleeves. Thank you to Ms. Carolyn for a smooth sailing payment plan becuz this dress IS an investment. When I say investment, I mean (for me) an amount I don't impulsively buy due to being in a one income household. I knew I had to add to closet becuz it was so well-made I could grow with it. The versatility allows me to dress it up or down and it just flows as u walk. The imperfection of it all is in the hem (also rogue) which isn't clean cut. It low-key gives it personality n totally matches my style-to hell with perfection! The motion of the dress gives an airy gesture n off the shoulder squeals delicate n soft for women wearing it. Aside from HELLO POCKETS, the fact that I could get through snapping pics in the heat n my body NOT be sweating was impressive. I felt sooooo cool under hear which means...I WILL be investing in QUALITY pieces such as these more often than not. This ain't no linen blend chile! I could've snapped pics all day in this dress by Catwalk Boutique . Definitely check her out whether ur looking for investments or affordable pieces becuz she does have a range for ur budget needs. Ms. Carolyn's customer service is excellent n I appreciate her flexibility as she also offers private shopping. The emotion this dress pulls out draping my body feels GEWD. Whether ur going on date night, brunch wit the girls, errand runs or grabbing coffee-THIS dress covers u across the board. I couldn't resist turning this post into a Lewk Book of some sorts haha. Pics honestly do it no justice n u can play around with the shape by adding a belt. I prefer the loose potato sack looks (hence my love for caftans) but just know...u gotta put some wrist work into getting these wrinkles out **cue horror scream** You will absolutely see me in this dress multiple times until the first sign of snow.

Goodbye August and Hellooooo September! Wow, these months rolling along huh. Welcome to 4th quarter! Halloween candy is out on shelves, Xmas lists getting created annnd best part about this time of the year is...KIDS BACK IN SCHOOL :D Woo Hoo. Labor Day Weekends are always Summers Finale. I ain't mad cuz I've been waiting on Fall since after Spring lol. This is the time where you see a lot of next season fashions n tips on how to transition into Fall. U can feel the change in the air. I love paying attention to seasonal changes n pausing in the moment becuz the calendar months are torn off as fast as u flip em. My plans for September...I wanna use this month to sit still and scrub. I always talk about purging my closet but I'm speaking in the realm of things in my life that don't belong. I am always looking to better myself n continue to evolve. In order to do that...erybody can't go. Taking time to scrub the boards n rewrite visions. What is my theme for 2024? What could I have done better in 2023? Creating short term n long term goals...and brainstorming what I gotta do to get there. Sounds like a lot to deliberate on in a short time left in the year. My Summer Sabbatical also gave me some momentum to do more pauses in social media spaces. I'm getting better with Tok's to Tik n gaining traction when I'm active. I gotta do mooooooore...n step out the comfort zone. August was good to me, no complaints there! The Bey concert was a MAJOR highlight of the month n I am open to receiving my blessings for whatever September would love to bring.

I hope all has been well with u all over the Summer as we come to a close. Kids are back in school n the mode of Summer ends after Labor Day. We are still fighting the pressing of goin back into the office n yall clearly ain't goin back without a fight lol. No worries, I gotchu on how to transition back into the workplace becuz for someone who's back in the groove...I ain't gonna lie...it's hard. I've not taken a single vacay this Summer n it's gone so fast, I've barely had a chance to pause n see where I would wanna go so there's that. I don't feel like I'm missing out tho, not with the way airlines delay and/or cancel flights n EVERYONE is playing catch up with being back outside. I've been totally content n chillin by staying out the way. With staying out the way, I've enjoyed not giving into the pressures of keeping up with social media's n checkin in as I see fit n not posting to get numbers n all the extra's we influencers do to keep an audience engaged. I've been popping in my IG stories here n there n more active on Tok's to Tik, lol n I can say...I prefer this pace for me. It allows me to organically create to post n ghost as needed. I love staying engaged w/yall n keeping up with the victories of ur laps cuz I'm rooting along the sidelines...or mainly from my balcony lol. I've been utilizing extra time of not going down a rabbit hole with taking myself out to eat, long walks n spending time with family. I am not bored by a long shot. Just a quick snippet via slideshow above, I've been booked n busy! A spontaneous Bey concert has definitely been the highlight. Anticipating my godsis n her hubby bringing my nephew into the world by Sept is exciting!! Yo we've been blessed beyond measure n I can't complain. U can't be in the DMV n not indulge in CRABS!!! It's a beautiful way to bond, fellowship n catch up with loved ones. Also...shopping **hides face in hands** Since we are on shopping...yall know I am forever shopping n more often WINDOW shopping in my favorite spot... Nordstrom !! However, I don't discriminate. I also have a random passion for curating my Amazon Storefront for random finds (and outfit from first pic). I will break down the categories more since I'm getting the hang of it. They'll be a "Bag of the Week" category or "OOTD" with basics for my simple gals n color for those who wanna be adventurous. Feel free to gimme suggestions!! I've been obsessed grabbing sunnies recently. I love mixing higher investments of staple pieces with accessories found on amazon. I can appreciate a good dupe before fully investing in higher end plus....who doesn't love SAVING monies :D Alright chall, just wanted to peek in n say heeeey since I've noticed traffic via outside of IG. I have been enjoying my Summer Sabbatical with less time going down a rabbit hole on the phone n being present. I am over the heat wave...I can't stand to feel like I'm suffocating n I have an appreciation for outside workers. It's actually been a quiet summer on the Homefront. Are kids in camp? Is everyone back in the office? or did everyone take flight? The streets been JY LIKE on mute. I have been getting in the groove of Tik Tok tho (somewhat) for practice (@daintylaydee) n been fully immersed in Caftans. These are slowly but surely overtaking my wardrobe essentials. It's been the perfect fit **pun intended** to combat the summer temps. It's light n airy n I love how it makes u look like ur gliding. Dress em up...Dress em down, toss on accessories n take it a notch up from basic. This dress HERE has garnered a lot of attention when I wore it n I hadn't even left the neighborhood. It's definitely more vibrant in person. Caftans + Heels= Resort Couture I know when we get TOO comfy in MuuMuu's we drop the ball with tossing on flip flops but to elevate the look...sashaying in heels changes the whole look n u strut differently which adds flare to a simple garment gracing the bawdy ;) So how's Summer moving along for yall...Is cuffing season still a thing? Does it start around football season? I be so confused n lost in my own bubble these days-hip me!

It's been sweltering hot this Summer n my hair is in a weird schmedium space to where Imma need to start going bi-weekly as it's growing out. My schedule has been...well let's just say...my life is subject to change n I was making last minute type appointments n I wanna get my life back on an actual schedule! With that being said...I knew I needed braids to get me thru to at least Sept n I mentioned this to my girl Weezy who put me on to a braiding spot in Bowie... Nadine's Braiding Salon . I went down a rabbit hole n got mixed reviews from yall on FB n TT. Mind u SHE had not tried them n only heard about em so now iiiiiiii gotta be a guinea pig **eyeroll**I did research n had to sice myself up to go cuz I just wasn't sure so it took me a good pay period to be like...ok phk it n take the plunge!! So let me quickly say...while being natural for over a decade, I've ONLY had my braided by Mushiya (based in ATL) who would do DC Tours where I'd get my Urban Twists. The experience was TOP NOTCH to where you'd get an intimate setting of about 4 other women to be serviced, a chef, wine n I'd be done in 4 hrs. When u have a taste of luxury it's quite hard to "accept less". With that being said...I had no expectations as I arrived to Nadine's. They open at 0400, walk-in's only (although I'm sure if u find a good braider u could make an arrangement) and I set my alarm for 0415 n was only about 20 min away so I hit snooze. I arrived a little after 0500. The main spot was full n I headed over to the 2nd spot where 2-3 other laydeez was in the chair. I clearly got there at a sweet spot of a time. My girl Comfort did a quick consult asking what I wanted. I just kept it simple as a newbie. Gimme the Nadine Special-Medium Knotless Braids for $180 HAIR INCLUDED (waist or mid-back length). Becuz the hair near my kitchen is quite short yet grippable, it was an extra $20. We got started at 0530 n by then my 2nd braider, Jewel stepped in to assist. I pretty much went to sleep w/AirPods in ear. I only woke up when they got towards the front n by then it was about 0700. They were done by 0730 n did a 30 min clean up n I was out the door by 0800 to head to work!! My HONEST Review: I was not looking for perfection. If u are particular with ur hair n how it's braided or the type of hair-stick to ur usual n pay the 5, Gina! The hair used was regular ooooh' synthetic hair n the ends were dipped in hot water n razor chopped uneven (which I like). I left the ends straight vs curly or wavy. The longer n thicker ur hair-add time ! I was in out in 2 hrs flat becuz my hair is short n straight. They are sweatshop-ish n guess who ain't complaining? ME!! As someone who gets antsy after 3-4 hrs of sitting for braids, I can appreciate the extra hands. Now I can't vouch for nothing fancier than regular ol' box braids n not sure I'd chance anything pass what I got n I don't plan to keep em pass Sept. The shop where I was serviced was clean n had no stench-maybe becuz it was so early. My girls were professional n I loved they weren't chatty n let me sleep. Not sure what folks be expecting for $180 n it was a reprieve for my pockets becuz I've paid the 5 for my braids being natural. I will say... they DO need some wifi ...like come on now!! I know nobody will mention this but I appreciated some male presence in the building n nearby becuz in a space full of women...we need to be protected...right **cue sigh of relief** Please note it's only been about a week I've had these. I can't tell what my hair will be looking like 6-8 wks from now lol. I am totally satisfied as a first time customer tho. Is it 5 star? No. Will I go back? Yes. DASSIT!! Tik Tok Review---> here

Fresh Month! Fresh Start! Fresh Weekend! Starting the month off at my favorite spot....a coffee house. The weather has been wonky lately n I've been looking forward to closing out June n coming into anew. There's something brewing in the atmosphere n I wanna retreat a tad to pay attention. I've spoken before on a Summer Sabbatical n there's no time than the present. During my #SipTrip this morning, I had to pause to have some "come to" moments with myself n receiving messages via loved ones which confirmed my inner thoughts in how to press forward. I have to remove a lot of distractions and No, I ain't quitting my job lol. Told yall I'm not one of those bloggers looking to dive into this field to make it full time-Nah! I tend to fall into too many rabbit holes whenever I open apps n my eyes need a rest too. I gotta get into more producing n less consuming as I intentionally pour into my creative space n grow my share of community here. So please be patient as I continue to figure out how to navigate n juggle an actual life with sharing my life with yall. Time management seems to be my struggle n procrastination is the biggest hurdle of em all. Maaaaan, I can't use school as an excuse no more lol. I do have some shindigs to celebrate this month. First up after the holiday is my godsisters baby shower. We are sooooo excited for my nephew's arrival in Sept. I will be mentally prepping to host my niece who is a hoot n I get to do a bunch of girly things I either do by myself or at all being a mom of boys **cue icky** and I also have a housewarming on the books! Book'd n Busy for this month for suuuure. Any major plans this month? Yall know I am gonna be pre-prepping for Fall by August...yes, I'm thinking of it already.

You know how u go on Amazon n end up down a rabbit hole where u start off lookin at dresses and end up in the purse section??? Like how did I get here. That was how I found this bag n I thought...ooooh cute a crochet bag n for the price...u can't beat it. When I ordered it, the description said "beige-white" and SURELY there's nothing of that shade on the bag iiiiiiii ordered but took a chance. Well errr uuuh...yea the warehouse (not the company) sent the wrong bag. Becuz I wanna give folks grace since I appreciate all workers who haven't been replaced by robots; I just had em send a replacement. HOORAY!! 2nd time was the charm. The pics honestly do it no justice. The beauty is gooooorgeous. I meeeeaaaan are u following my Amazon Storefront or nah becuz I toss in random finds. A lot of things on there is a wishlist n if I try em n it's worth a share....I don't gatekeep lol. Back to this bag...note its NOT crochet'd with yarn but more like t-shirt material. The bag is hefty but not heavy n comes with a long strap inside to use along with a side tassel which I thought was a cute touch! I'm contemplating another shade as we speak but I gotta wait for it to be available again. I do think this should be stored in a dust bag to preserve it n I'm excited to give it a go this summer. More than likely I'll pair it with all denim; white top/jeans; all white or pretty much anything basic to keep the main focus on the bag. Just know u will see it in all its glory EVERY time I wear it. YES U NEED THIS BAG!!! DASSIT!!!

Becuz I'm not stingy nor a gatekeeper **chuckles** I love sharing my finds n even better when they end up on sale. I am a fan of Kurt Geiger n his drench leather bags are top notch as it checks quality off the list n the style comes shortly after. I have anything from the bag to shoes from this brand and I've yet to be disappointed. They fall in line with my style personality with vibrant colors n trendy yet classic. I can see these being just as hip years down the line n I love spacious bags. Yall have seen this bag before. It was my intro into Kurt bags. I chased this thing DOWN. I ain't gonna fake...these bags come at hefty prices of about $300+ and depending on what time of month u catch me...hefty is subjective! My hack is...I put it in my wishlist n stalk for a sale. This green shade went on sale via Nordy Rack's site n I had Nordies price adjust. When the orange shade dropped I wasn't ready to splurge on the $345 investment **cue waiting game** I was actually nervous becuz its a summer shade n figured it would be sold out before it hit the clearance rack! Wouldja LEWK at Gawd!!!! Soon as I got the alert my wishlist item was on sale, I couldn't pass it up. I knew dmn well it wasn't gonna last more than 24 hrs n I was correct. It's currently SOLD OUT at Nordies; however, I also found it at Dillard's . What u can do is...keep an eye out there for a sale as well. This bag isn't on Kurt's site :( I'm not tryin to be an enabler buuuuut...this is worth the nable lol. While I do NOT reach for my green one often I chose to add the orange becuz these are bags that get it RIGHT with the color, style n leather durability. I have no regrets on these purchases but to get them BOTH at a sale price (green was 180 too) u definitely need these as staple pieces to dress up n down or wear a simple outfit n toss this on ur shoulders for the BAM!!! All Denim, All White, All Khaki (or anything neutral) or anything to compliment a printed dress n VOILA: For some reason, when I do bags, I tend to do it big **shrugs** I don't know if it's cuz I'm use to totes or I like to randomly have the option to toss the kitchen sink in so this is the perfect size but I will say...if by chance this XXL is out, u can easily size down n get the same look. I am a lover of reds so this orange falls in line with my couture. If u are scared of color...just opt for the black! I'm not even a lover of black but I am strongly contemplating this style IN black becuz it looks so sleek in person n every time I see it I'm hypnotized to think of panther couture so...we shall see. I hope I've "influenced" u enuff to consider grabbing it or at least putting it on ur wishlist. Seeing it in person will truly sell u-trust me! Before I go...I'll leave u with some things to note as I've compared the two... Noted in comparison n tips: Green is circa a few pre-pandemic summers ago **Keep the purse stuffings to maintain the shape when not in use** I love the hardware n prefer the straps on the green one Becuz the orange straps match the bag it doesn't limit ur metal tone accessories The versatility of the straps leaves a lot of options how to carry (I'm a dainty heaux so I carry under my arms as a clutch or let it hang) Wearing as a crossbody seems too bulky n the size n color will overpower the look...but what do I know...do u chile!! My green one is softer in leather n the orange is sturdy (hence the structure) I can't preach enuff about the space...I mean don't put a doggy bag in there but if by chance u want to sneak a cluster or 2 of crab legs...**looks around n whispers** the bag allows **whistles n walks away** They both come with dust bags-I love it when my purchases come wit dust bags, I feel sophisticated n it forces me to take care of em (I know...I'm crazy)

Is it me or does Summer feel...different? Like yea according to the calendar it's here but weather wise it seems to be running late! I can still enjoy my windows being open n we get these teaser 80 degree days here n there but for the most part...I can still get away wit a sweater dress, smh!! Anyhoo...here we are...Summer is HERE!!! Any plans? Nah, not really!! I plan to be local aside from spontaneous getaways here n there but I'm not catching flights nor have any feelings bout it lol. I do plan on taking a Summer Sabbatical from social media to be more of a creator instead of consumer. It's hard to find the balance when u get caught up in rabbit holes. To clear out some of the chatter, I think it's a good idea to take a step back n be productive in other areas of my life. My plant life is still on n popping! We've been thriving since the summer of the pandemic n it's absolutely changed my life for the better. There is something so soothing about spritzing them every morning as my routine n keeping up with watering once a week or so. I am going to revamp my balcony to enjoy sunrises n sunsets as meditation space. Now yall know a consistent for my weekends...Sip Trips!! I am working down on cutting down my coffee intake n if I can get it down to 2 days a week u can betcha by golly wow, Saturday is on the list. Although Summer is not my favorite season, I can make the best of it for the short period of time we have to "enjoy" it. The best part is it gets dark later but the heat part...I'm NOT looking forward to. Summer 2023: I am outside but not yall outside lol. I'm at concerts but not festivals. I'm at brunches but not spots that require paid parking. I am up n at em but my day is done by 2p. I love late night strolls n random car rides with the sunroof open n RnB tantalizing my ear. If u REALLY wanna a karaoke make it old school RnB n my imaginary mic comes out. U will not find me around hookah spots but u may catch me where jazz performs. I can try out fancy grass walls but I'm not doin no waitlist...never that **hair flip** and for the most part...I am staying out the way! I hope everyone has a safe summer and u know where to find me ;)

LOL!! I took French in HS in hopes of one day going to Paris. Imma get there one day **gazes off into the stars** so I "speak" French with how I see it n in my head (hence the title spelling). I am totally excited about this collab. Knowing these laydeez personally is the cherry on top! I have been a huge fan of Lene since I found her right before the pandemic. I was upset about a Palo Santo scent I had to return to Nordies. She reached out like oh...try my brand. Although I was skeptical becuz its truly hard finding a legit Palo Santo scent-I took the plunge was so impressed that she can't quit me. It's been such a pleasure seeing how much her company has grown n her line has expanded. She's a local DMV Honey n off our first meetup for my pick up I instantly fell in love with her spirit. Jess is an around the way girl too. Although u might not catch the DC-ness until she lets it peak out lol, I could go on forever with introducing her to the masses. It's been a pleasure letting this cat out the bag as she's grown her platform from under 1k to well over 100k by consistently showing up for us. I remember EVERY morning she'd be the first in my Top 5 feed greeting us n showing off her OOTD before heading off to work at 0400a. YES!!! FOUR IN THE FREAKING MORNING!! She is exactly who she is online if ever u meet her in person. As a recipient of one of her luxury raffles...her first one might I add lol, she's not all about fashion but also finances n she shares her tips n tricks to balance n define ur own luxury. It was only right for this dynamic duo to collab n I couldn't be more happy to share my review. Please know even tho I know them-know them...this is an honest review. They are open to any kinda feedback n will not cry off constructive criticism. This is the biggest candle I've ordered from LeneNicole Candles . I typically get 2 wick n travel tins. Each order is professionally executed n u can smell ur order through the box. I ordered Jess's candle n some travel tins from the Mother's Day Collection. Without even lighting it, the first sniff I said...oh yea THIS is Jess lol. The packaging is unique n felt like I was suppose to be packing for Par-Ree (Paris) to test the French I can recall from HS lol. The captivante scent of Rendezvous ($65) is giving ancienne (vintage) dame aux perles (lady with pearls) n femme de classe (woman of class). I say that becuz knowing Jess personally she brings an energy to where u feel to step ur shyt up not in get on her level kinda way but in an iron sharpens iron manner. For some reason, as much as I be wanting to curse when I'm around her, my throat shuts it off haha. This candle exudes doux et feminin (soft n feminine). I keep this candle lit for 2-3 hrs at a time becuz it permeates so strongly u honestly don't have to go the full 4 hrs and it lingers after u snuff the candle out (u dare not blow em out or Lene will appear lol). I am a lover of creating a tranquil space within my home n these scents are nothing I can find in stores. From her room sprays to carpet deodorizers, u will truly fall in love.
