  • May Nail Files: Coastal Summer

This month's nail files inspired by BeautyLookBook For the first time in a long time, I went into my next appointment knowing what I wanted. I was reading a review Beauty Lookbook covered and seen this beautiful blue shade and said THAT'S IT!! I even loved the nude combo with it. The Beauty Look Book Chanel Review Even the nude shade I would've grabbed buuuut it's SOLD OUT and the blue shade I thought was a fun color in the spirit of the upcoming Summer Season. Instead of this combo, I went with a different take on the inspo but blue was definitely the focal point. Instead of the blue being so cooler toned looking on my hands, I opted for the "Tiffany & Co" signature blue with the wink of gold to compliment the shade. Although I have no plans of heading to the beach or vacationing along riveriera's; looking down at this month's set while at work allows me to close my eyes and put me wherever I need to be for a quick break **takes deep inhale** YUP **exhales** I'm currently in the Carribean...until June!!

  • Cherry Blossoms DC 2026: Part I

Nope, I haven't forgotten-I've been a tad busy sorting these out. Although the hype for the Cherry Blossoms in DC have died down and the peak has come n gone, I still have my experience to share. I've been sorting through how I wanted to present them and got distracted with life n work. **BULLSHYT ALERT** Translation: Overthinking the presentation!! Maybe one day, I'll be one of those content creators that publish fresh n hot off the press and not wait weeks on end, lol. The beauty in later vs now is...I get to review the footage and relive the moment all over again. This year, I knew I wanted to do it differently. Once the news started tossing out teasers, I came up with the idea to just catch em in different phases which meant, I'd need to make the drive to DC every other weekend or so until peak bloom. Let me just say...it was quite boring yet intriguing at the same time. I'm used to seeing them at peak in its full glory so to see some naked trees was less appealing. The trip around the tidal basin was less crowded and by Phase 3, I fully came into the assignment. From beginning to end, to see how it started with buds forming on the branches and going through the phases as they start to show some color and florets start to extend. The anticipation in between was exciting to know they'd soon stretch n separate into fluffy clouds of blossoms come full peak! Granted all this is at the mercy of the weather and this Winter showed us we don't know no na'an. I did attempt to catch a sunrise but failed (maybe next time). That was also an added trend this season with small groups gathering along the TB to witness the sun rising upon the Pink Blizzard. The hype has certainly grown since I started n the crowds have gotten bigger n bigger making manuvering downtown to see them a hassle ESP with parking. Now of course, I have so many pics throughout my CB season and it will be shown as they did me-in phases! In the meantime, for all things I've done in the previous years with blossoms; feel free to catch up ----> here. I will drop the next phases in the upcoming week.

  • Cherry Blossoms DC 2026: Part II

It's only been about two months since I've experienced the Cherry Blossoms for this year but the weather we have going on this month is making me relive those days, lol. It's funny how you document something and get lost in time before posting. When your ready to do so, life has pretty much moved on but the memories remain. Taking a picture really does last longer and dropping 'em now makes me smile at the thought. If you'd like a recap of the first part click here. In this post we'll rewind to the Stage One taken 08 March. Soon as the CB watch started I began to think of what to wear but after a brutal Winter; I knew that March into April weather is a toss up. One year it's the perfect clear Spring season where it's warm and the next it's ridiculously windy. The worst experience was the pandemic year where downtown was shutdown. Nonetheless, every year tourists flock to DC to take a trip around the tidal basin and surrounding areas just to frolick in the blooms and brave the crowds. I knew I wanted to do something different for 2026 and came up with the idea to see them in all of their stages, from buds to full peak. The tricky part was the weather. The peak is always determined by how well temps cooperate. I must say...the first stage is quite boring but I still enjoyed the walk around pre-blossoms and got to envision what the crowds would look like during the peak. Stage One: Green Buds: Tiny, round green buds emerge from bare branches, marking the end of winter dormancy. As boring as the visuals might be, I enjoyed the calmness before the storm (crowds) and was able to take it all in without the pressures of rushing and paused to look around and see the empty walkways. Mind you, I was out there by 0700a so fresh off the early morning with coffee in hand; I was in bliss of this quiet zone. Up next is Stage 3. As much as I attempted to catch EVERY weekend-I didn't. Again, the phases are dictated by the weather so one stage can linger over a week and if we got one good sunny day the buds could escalate into the next phase within a day or two vs a week. Overall, if you are curious; I'd encourage to put it on the list next Spring.

  • 03 May: Ascend & Align

Well, Well, Well. Goodbye April and Hello May. Stepping into this month feels like catching the exact moment a key turns and everything clicks into place. May is about elevation with intention—where growth isn’t rushed, it’s aligned. With new doors opening through monetization and a fresh space to call my own, I’m moving with clarity, not chaos. Every decision, every step, every pivot is rooted in purpose and this pace seems to control my nerves more than I can explain. This isn’t just about doing more—it’s about doing what fits, what flows, and what feels like right. I'm loving how life is less about chasing and more about positioning—being in the right rooms, holding the right energy, and trusting that what’s meant for me is already meeting me halfway. Walk into this month like it already has your name on it. Move with intention, trust your timing, and don’t second-guess the doors opening in front of you. Stay grounded, stay ready, and when it all starts to pour in… just know, this is your season to espresso yourself. ☕✨

  • April Nail Files: Coral & Curls

Well, Well, Well...look how fast April has zoomed by. Almost so fast that I'd miss sharing my April Nail Files. YIKES!!! Coming off of March's Spring Whisper, I had nothing on the docket for this month. I did know going into May, I wanted something bright. Something to represent sunny days and something that would make me smile when I glanced down at this set. The first quarter of the year was a slow start and I wanna come alive for 2nd quarter. I almost went with RED. Yall know I feel grown now and gotten more comfortable wearing red after it being so forbidden growing up but I didn't feel like it was time for the Cameo shade to come back. I said...what shade can I go with that'll satisfy my love for red and signature of pink and CORAL was the best way I could get the best of both worlds. Who would've thought I'd have such a hard time picking out my nail shades as if I'm trying to figure out a chinese math problem in the dark!! Also notice, I've been holding on to this almond shape and toggling between keeping it through the year or reverting back to my stiletto's. This shape softens it up a bit. It's almost as if I'm fighting my rebellious side by keeping it this way. The stiletto's give me edge. Bad Gal. The almond's make me feel...conservative n prude, lol. The only thing that shatters both theories is me always wearing COLOR. There's no french tips or soft neutrals that give off Submissive Sally **cue evil laugh** So in conclusion...Corals & Curls are it for the month. What shades are you wearing these days and what color combo's should I try for May? Let me know in the comments below.

  • Sephora Spring Sale 2026

Although these have always been such a big deal, I'm growing quite **yawn** bored yet here I am. Gone are the days where I was set and ready for the day. The makeup community is always the buzzing and we share thoughts, hauls and reviews on what to add to the list. Sephora Sales are a big thing. I've fallen out of the makeup game which meant...my status which held high at VIB Rouge (20% off) has fallen to...VIB (15% off). Don't cry for me Argentina. I'm not mad at all. I still participate here and there but just be warned...my haul is nothing exciting because I truly have or tried alllll of the things and with such a basic makeup routine these days, I replenish holy grails for the most part. This haul however, has some newbies added to the stash. This haul focused more on body products as that's been my main priority with a hint to beauty. I'm more into body oils, natural deodorants and anything that will make my 10 min everyday face easier than not. I am not working hard the older I get-at all. The CYKLAR brand has been nodding at me through my timelines for months now. I almost grabbed the set on Tik Tok but I got trust issues when it comes to people hyping stuff up too much and need to step into the brand. This Acid Brightening Deodorant Gel seemed to the popular item of the bunch. I mainly wanted it to test the theory of it controlling odor and reducing discoloration. I'm not looking for it to keep me dry like an anti-perspirant. Becuz I have a slight OCD that when I try a brand for the first time, I get two in the line (no real rhyme or reason), I didn't feel enticed to do the body washes and not ready to try the oils until I make sure I like the brand itself so I went with this Glycoholic Body Spray for smooth and even skin. This seemed like a cool concept to try to dimish the strawberry effect along the legs-mind you; I've NEVER shaved my legs before in my entire life, lol. Mini Icons Sampler Set I chuckle when I see such hype around Phlur becuz I remember when they first came out years ago, the packaging was boring n simple. I got a travel size of this Hinoki type scent (I still have it) but it never nudged me to go further into the brand. Well, the gworls loooove them some Phlur and I'm not one to commit to full sizes so I got influenced into this set as they hold their top sellers. I see complaints on how the smell doesn't last n etc but the trick with these body sprays is in the layering method. You can't go wrong with vanilla ANYTHING and these are cute to keep in the purse for touchups as well. This holy grail in the Danessa Myricks line has been this infamous Yummy Blurring Balm and I must say...I'm the most excited to try this. I dipped into her brand during a holiday sale where the radiant version came in the set. How do I use this? I take a scoop size and put it all over my face then follow it with the VERY popular Yummy Mattifying Setting Spray and that combo is typically my foundation. I stress VERY popular becuz it stays out of stock alot so I caught it on an offseason, lol and grabbed the travel size but when I run out I do foresee getting the full size version. Definitely a solid brand to snag for makeup needs! And that shall conclude my Sephora Sale Haul. Short n sweet and to the point right, lol. Luckily for my wallet, it was a struggle to pull together what I wanted to snag but knew it had to be something that wouldn't collect dust. I'm so boring yall haha. What did you guys get during the sale or did you skip it? Let me know in the comments.

  • 2026: The Year of Cultivation

The first few months of the year I am typically getting a grasp on life or holding on to dear life so the theme crafts itself to be used as my New Year Resolution. Instead of having specific goals, I'd rather have a theme to adhere to and leave less pressure to check off throughout the 12 months. This allows me to structure my movements accordingly to reflect the theme and keep it as my marker when I veer off. This year, I just knew earlier than normal because I felt it the end of last year but I brushed it off. The universe has a way of confirming things for you. I just KEPT seeing the signs and the closer I got to Forty Thrive ; it was solidifed-THIS is it.  The Year of Cultivation: My sign was originally geared towards refinement becuz I do see how through evolving over the last at least a solid 8 yrs, I've just been getting better with time. Learning how to speak less and become slower to react. Listening to understand vs being understood. The beauty that's grown out of these life lessons over the last decade has been a ball of goodness into the woman standing before you today. So yes, I've grown to become more refined and working on polishing some things up but felt more at ease with theming 2026 with cultivation based on the definition: Cultivate (verb): The process of developing and improving skills or knowledge. I feel amazing. I am at the point of my life where I have to prove nothing to nobody. I'm just as content with alone time as I am with sharing time with those who love me. I'm at a level of fulfilment where I'm enjoying peace and contentment of where I am vs where I thought I'd be. My lifestyle is not a trend. What many do for likes, I can enjoy without people watching. I know attention is the new currency these days yet I don't need validation or a dollar from others to display what I do in general. I still live off a level of discretion and share what I like. How do you know I love myself without me saying it out loud? Answer amongst yourselves and ask yourself the same question.  The discernment I've gained through discipline, sacrifice and obedience gives me the shield to see 'em coming a mile away. I can spot the loudest girl in the room and know the insecurities that shouts bigger than her voice. I can see pass the game that man is spittin thinking flattery gets him everywhere. Nope. It won't get you far but keep tryin! Anyone can gain these "powers" you just gotta tap in and lock in (don't we love that phrase, lol) and be patient. It'll always show its hand. Knowing this is my theme, I will say no to anything that doesn't adhere to the matter. This year will mark 3 anniversaries of pilates and one of pickleball. I'm stepping it up in both and adding a new hobby to the mix. I've touched on learning Salsa which I did experience after the universe heard me. I know we love to put fitness on the board. Yes, I can stand to lose this baby weight (shet up...I know he's 7) but don't look to me to become the fitness baddie. I have no desire to show yall seeing me sweat and dmn near pass out from training sessions. You will just see the results when they get here, lol.  I don't know what your resolution for 2026 may be but I do know it should always include being better than before. Raising the bar. Removing the ceiling. Stretching beyond what the devil tells you you can't do becuz fear is relying on you to keep running in place and at the rate I'm goin...I'm bout to pass you heaux twice.

  • From Runway to Realway: A Dainty Spring Forecast

The Spring 🌷2026 Trend Alert: Soft Structure & Effortless Statements Runways may set the tone, but sidewalks set the standard because where else do they get their inspo?! Spring 2026 is here in a swirl of romance and bold ideas, yet in real life, we’re translating those moments into something softer, smarter, and infinitely more wearable. This season isn’t about dressing for spectacle-although...I love a good speck. It’s about dressing for mornings that move, afternoons that linger, and closets that feel edited instead of overwhelming becuz lets face it; we got enough going on these days. From runway to realway, we’re choosing pieces that live beautifully beyond the front row. This season for me is about soft structure . Clothing that holds shape but doesn’t hold you hostage. I call it realway because I love a good haul from our favorite n popular fashion mavens but let's be honest here-beyond erybody being broke; it's just not realistic for me to cop the latest n trendiest of funnel collar jackets when I don't want hair on my neck, let alone a collar lingering around it. Everybody talkin bout peri-meno-pause this n men-all-pause that yet championing for extra fabrics to constrict us to these "personal summers", lol. I wanna see some regular degular everyday average people being stylish n making it well...relatable! Image from Pinterest First up: Bermuda shorts . Not the stiff, corporate cousin. The tailored, elongated silhouette that feels like a quiet power move. Styled with a relaxed button-down or a fitted knit, they give polished without trying too hard. A loafer underneath grounds it. A slingback if you’re feeling editorial. It’s the kind of look that says, I have a plan-but I also have iced coffee. I'm grabbing one on sale now to try it out. I want some in khakis, blue n black. I'm also open to a matching suit jacket for the office but that might be a goal for next year. Speaking of grounding pieces, loafers are not going anywhere. If anything, they’re becoming the backbone of the everyday wardrobe. I remember growing up putting pennies in mine but to see how they vary now makes my childhood smile. Smooth leather, suede, maybe even a subtle gold detail, I love seeing options of styles n shades. They anchor lace skirts (which I'm NOT gonna be wearing), soften tailored sets, and make dresses feel lived in. There’s something about a loafer that whispers confidence instead of announcing it. I mean, who doesn't love a good flat. Color this season is interesting. While bold brights flirt on the edges, the real-life favorite is softer. Think Pantone’s Cloud Dancer energy. Creamy. Clean. Not stark white, but a whisper of warmth. It looks expensive without effort. It layers beautifully. It turns a simple two-piece set into something quietly elevated. Cloud Dancer is the palette cleanser our closets needed however, I'm not one for lighter colors. Aside from it looking like it adds 10lbs on me, I'm way too self-conscious wearing the shade and hate being extra careful to not get a smear of anything on it. I often foresee a splash of ketchup splashed on it someway, somehow! As mad as I hate it, I also love it draped on me so for that-my options are open. Spring 2026 isn’t loud. It’s composed. It’s the season of looking like you thought about it, even when you absolutely did not and coming off Winter, you're like a blank canvas of ideas and down for whatever. We’re choosing pieces that transition from school drop-offs n coffee runs to Teams meeting and late afternoon small bites without requiring an outfit change in between. Versatile. We’re leaning into silhouettes that flatter without squeezing. One Size does NOT fit all. Colors that glow without shouting. Shoes that carry us, not challenge us. Comfortability. This is not runway fantasy. This is real-life refinement. Ya know...the world outside of social media. And if getting dressed feels easier this season, that’s not by accident. That’s strategy. A well-edited closet is the strongest accessory. Here’s to a Spring that’s light, polished, and brewed to perfection. Consider this your gentle reminder to espresso yourself accordingly. ☕✨

  • 01 April: Bloom in Motion

April arrives like a soft exhale—petals drifting, sidewalks waking with more traffic, and the quiet hum of a season shifting into full expression as birds whistle. There’s something about this month that refuses stillness and it often awakens me. It’s not just about blooming, it’s about how we bloom—gracefully, unpredictably, and always in motion. Between passing showers and golden-hour glows, April sets the tone for a life lived outside-which I plan to do, layered in lightness and intention. This month, I’m leaning into that rhythm. Expect a Spring Trend Forecast grounded in real sidewalk fashions, where style meets wearability without missing a beat. My Fashion Hero spotlight turns to the effortless charm of two-piece sets—effortless, fluid, and made to move as seamlessly as the days ahead. And of course, my Cherry Blossom series returns, capturing beauty in phases—from first bloom to peak poetry—each moment a reminder that timing is everything, and evolution is the real luxury. April isn’t asking for perfection. It’s inviting our presence. To step out, to show up, and to let things unfold as they will—stylishly, softly, and always in motion. Sip slow, bloom boldly . ☕🌸

  • The Monthly Pour: March

In Bloom & Lightly Brewed I’ve come to appreciate March as a month that doesn’t rush its reveal. It stretches, softens, and slowly trades winter’s heaviness for something a bit more forgiving as we've rolled into Spring. And while my posting may have taken a quieter tone, the month itself still offered a handful of small, lovely indulgences worth noting. Sip Trip March kept things mostly close to home for half the month. Coffee brewed in familiar corners, cups poured without urgency as it was still a tad brisk outside. Still, curiosity managed to peek through with a few visits to a new café along 8th Street, SE called CIVIC . A promising addition to the rotation and a revisit waiting to happen. Some places call you back before you’ve even left and it's definitely one of those-plus the playground is around the corner for my coffee date. My Favorites of the Month My Tory Burch Jenna loafers (I grabbed around Xmas '25) have been the pair I reach for without thinking, polished enough to feel put together, effortless enough to wear on repeat and it doesn't help they are comfy. And in a softer, sweeter lane, I’ve fully leaned into my indulgence of Cocoa Asante Bon Bons . One box turned into a few, and I have no regrets. Consider it a gentle nod to balance and check out the brand for your own guilt-free pleasures. You won't be disappointed. I'm VERY picky with my chocolates due to my delicate digestive system and these just hit the mark. I am strongly considering auto-ship! In Case You Missed It Cherry Blossom Phases: One of March’s quiet highlights was witnessing the cherry blossoms move through their phases which was a new way I wanted to add to my tradition. Not just the full bloom everyone waits for, but the in-between moments, the build, the pause, the fleeting nature of it all. It was fun to experience it with walks as my plus one tagged along with me. A reminder that beauty doesn’t only arrive at its peak. What will be in the cup for April? We shall see. Until then-same table, fresh cup, and something sweet within reach ☕🌸

  • March Nail Files: Spring Whisper

March arrives like a gentle whisper at the window, and this set answers in kind. For this theme I leaned into hues that feel like the season stretching and yawning to wake up—minty fresh with a shimmer of aqua that catches the light like ocean waves flirting with the shore-can you hear the splash, lol. I didn't have anything in mind when I sat in the chair. Yall know my default is anything pink but wanted to celebrate the Spring season differently. I almost went lavender-ish. It’s soft, but not shy; delicate, yet undeniably present. There’s a quiet confidence in these tones, as if they’re letting spring take the lead while still leaving a glimmering signature behind. This set feels like a breath between seasons—where winter loossens its grip and spring tiptoes in, wrapped in color that feels both refreshing and a little bit dreamy. Consider this your gentle reminder to sip slow, stay polished, and let your glow brew beautifully. ☕✨

  • Petals, Poise & Postures for Spring

Hello, Spring… We’ve Been Expecting You Spring arrives like a well-timed exhale, hopefully...sooner than later; loosening winter’s grip and inviting us back into softness, light, and a touch of whimsy. We went from 80 degree days to a whole snow day in 24 hrs. The weather has been so wonky!! The days stretch a little longer, the air feels flirtatious again, and suddenly everything from the mood to my morning routine feels ready for a refresh. This season isn’t rushing in, it’s gliding, with a quiet confidence that encourages us to do the same. Despite allergy season, I'm excited to open windows, maintain fresh florals on a weekly basis, and a return to dressing not just for the weather, but for the mood to curate. On the style front, Spring 2026 is less about chasing trends and more about embodying them with ease. We’re seeing a romantic pull toward asymetrical satin hems, airy two-piece sets, and soft n flowy structured dresses that moves with you rather than against you. Stripes are reintroducing themselves with a relaxed rhythm-I love the nautical look, neutrals are getting warmer and more indulgent, and texture is doing the talking through linen blends, light knits, and subtle sheens. It’s the season of looking polished without appearing pressed when you add some loafers, where lounge meets luxury and everyday dressing feels like a quiet statement when wearing playsets. When I want to look more polished, I'm on the hunt to get some tailored Bermuda Shorts to pair with a poplin button up. The forecast? Effortless, intentional, and just dainty enough to linger. My boat shoes and fisherman's will make an appearance earlier cuz I'm going for preppy n yachty gal. Here’s to stepping into the season slowly, stylishly, and with a little extra warmth in your cup… consider this your official invitation to sip into spring ☕✨
