Editor's Note | The Espresso Pour ☕ The First Few Pages

An espresso shot from the Editor's desk 🎙️

Welcome back to The Espresso Pour.
Today's note is called The First Few Pages.
Did you know...
A week ago, I almost talked myself out of pressing record despite wanting to do this for a looooong time.
Not because I didn't have something to say...
But because I wasn't sure I'd know how to say it.
I kept waiting for the perfect setup and bigger push.
The perfect delivery.
The perfect version of me by way of what I envisioned in my head.
Instead...
I decided to let you meet the version that's still becoming.
The one who occasionally stumbles over a word or two.
The one who laughs at herself.
The one who pauses to catch her breath.
I leave those moments in because they're part of the story too.

Today's Pour:
Don't wait until you're certain.
This week reminded me that beginnings aren't supposed to look polished.
They're supposed to look honest.
And somewhere between pressing record and pressing publish, I realized something.
I do not care about chasing likes or views.
This is the best time to do it, while nobody's watching, lol.
These publications been about keeping a promise to myself.
The promise that I'd stop watching from the window.
The promise that I'd finally trust my own voice.
The promise that I'd just DO IT.
So if you've taken a few sips this week aka listened, thank you.
You've witnessed the first few pages of something that's teaching me just as much as I hope it teaches and encourages someone else.
And I have a feeling...
We're just getting started.
Sometimes the first page is simply proof that you were brave enough to pick up the pen.
Brave enough to push pass the fear.
Brave enough to test it out for yourself
and just brave enough to silence the noise.
This has not been easy. I told yall I hate to hear my voice! But I can't keep sitting on my talents when I see myself on couches across from people in this game I admire. Each day I let pass by NOT doing what I say I was gonna do is another chance for someone to sit in my seat and do the things I been scared to do.
Until tomorrow's espresso...keep finding beauty in every sip.
