Editor's Note | The Espresso Pour ☕ The Order of Things

An espresso shot from the Editor's desk 🎙️

Welcome to today's Espresso Pour.
Today's Note is The Order of Things.
This week's finale-I can't believe it. I've been giving yall something to sip on all week long!
If you've missed some notes; feel free to harken back to catch up!
I can't promise how often these pours will occur, this was a trial run to be honest or shall I say sample cups!
I think we need to slow this one down a little.
Because this morning, I had nowhere I needed to rush to.
When I work from home, I'm up early enough for a full production becuz well-the joy of slow mornings.
Before I get started; ALEXA PLAY JAZZ-EVERYWHERE because as I glide throughout the house I want tunes warming up the morning for my plants in all rooms.
I begin to light candles and I partner those with room sprays becuz well-instant gratification is needed to set the mood until the candles catch up!
And now the grooming and skincare can begin. Yes yall-it's a whole ordeal of 30 mins.
Just think...the scents have been marinating while in the bathroom so you come out to the house smelling divine. Now it's time for the real day starter-coffee.
My Nespresso was giving me my own little barista experience.
And the hardest decision I had to make was which coffee flavor and creamer were going to become today's little love affair.
No phone in my hand.
No distractions.
Just me, my coffee, and a moment to actually sit and breathe.
This is where the day gets set with intention.
Here I am practicing gratitude and I remember thinking...

God is amazing.
Then, later today, I got a little reminder about faith.
A package of mine had been delivered to the wrong address and returned to sender.
I contacted customer service, and according to their policy, I would have to pay another shipping fee to have it sent back to the correct address. (I hate paying for shipping)
After a little back and forth, I decided I was going to own my mistake and pay the fee or as I like to call it "Pay the 5 Ginaaaa".
But before I did, I made one last plea.

Today's Pour:
Ask.
Trust.
Release the outcome.
And keep walking.
I basically said, "I'll gladly accept responsibility for my mistake...unless you happen to find it in your heart to spare a mother who just paid her son's college tuition and make this little fee disappear." apply a coupon code or find change in the couch-something!
And then...
Nothing.
Radio silence.
Hours passed and at that point I was ready to settle yet another invoice.
And then my phone gave me a little notification.
Your package is on the way.

Would ya look-a there!
Now, I could call that luck.
Her kindness was greatly appreciated.
But for me, it was also a reminder.
You have not because you ask not. (which Janelle taught me)
Sometimes we assume the answer is no before we've even asked the question.
And I've learned that faith, for me, isn't believing that everything will always go exactly the way I want it to.
It's believing that whatever happens, I'll be okay.
I have a strong belief that things can work out in my favor.
And even when they don't?
I trust that there is still something working in my favor that I may not see yet.
My steps are ordered.
And apparently...
so was my package. **pun slightly intended**
You don't have to know how every detail will unfold to trust the One who already knows the way.
And with that, my Darlings...well, not quite yet. 😉
We'll save that little greeting for another room of The Dainty Brew.
But to everyone who joined me for this sneak peek of The Espresso Pour, thank you for taking this journey with me.
I've learned that I don't have to wait for **insert excuses and distractions** to begin.
I've been doing these on a whim and dmn it-I'm proud of myself.
Until next week's espresso...keep finding beauty in every sip.
