01 August: Settling

The Dainty Brew | Monthly Audio Edition

As I get my footing with my new audio style, I'm trying to figure out if I'll leave the transcript here or a separate blurb that slightly differs or basically summarizes what the audio is yapping about. I will say...don't totally rely on the transcripts becuz in true Kisha form, I go off script-alot, lol.
Disclaimer: I purposely left any bloopers, behind the scenes, pauses and mishaps. Ya know...all the mistakes and edits we do to remove the ugly. I left mine in becuz I want to look back one day and cringe at how "bad" I used to be, lol. It's a shrug to perfection and bout as raw (pause) as it'll be.
Just gawn and hit play!! This is our monthly coffee date...where we pour over style, slow moments, little joys, and the beautifully peculiar details that make ordinary life worth remembering.
Think of this as my editor's note...only we're sharing it over coffee instead of across printed pages like a magazine.
So whether you're sipping your morning coffee, winding down in the evening, or simply taking a quiet moment for yourself...I'm so happy you're here.
Pour your favorite cup, get comfortable...
and let's brew this month's story.
01 August: Settling.
There's something about August that always feels like an exhale.
Summer hasn't completely packed its bags, but you can already feel fall waiting patiently at the door. The mornings seem just a little softer, back-to-school season starts peeking around the corner, and everything begins to feel like it's preparing for a fresh start.
If I had to describe where I am right now in one word, it would be...
Settling.
Not settling for less.
Simply settling into life.
July was full in ways I didn't quite expect.
Without question, the highlight of my month was the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
If you've been around The Dainty Brew for a while, then you already know the Anniversary Sale is practically my Super Bowl. I love seeing what's ahead for fall, curating my favorite finds, and sharing pieces that make getting dressed feel exciting again. It's never just about shopping for me. It's about inspiration. It's about imagining a new season before it officially arrives.

But my favorite accomplishment this month wasn't something I bought.
It was something I created.
I published the very first audio edition of one of my blog posts.
Pressing "record" felt exciting...and honestly, a little vulnerable. But hearing my words come to life made me realize this is exactly how I want The Dainty Brew to feel.
Less like you're reading a blog...
and more like we're catching up over coffee.
That was such a special moment for me.
My second favorite post this month was my July Nail Files.
I smile every time I write those because they've quietly become more than a manicure recap. They're little snapshots of the month. Tiny reflections wrapped up in polish, color, and whatever season I'm living through.
Sometimes beauty really does live in the smallest details.

And speaking of seasons...
Fall is almost here, and I couldn't be happier.
Back-to-school season always brings this sense of possibility. New planners, new routines, fresh fashion, and all those little reminders that it's okay to begin again.
As much as I appreciate every season for what it offers...
my heart has always belonged to fall.
Give me the sweaters.
Give me the boots.
Give me the layered outfits.
Give me all the cozy coffee shop mornings.
I'm ready.
Now here's something I didn't see coming...
I've officially entered my vinyl era.
And I have to tell you...
I completely get the hype.
There's something so intentional about placing a record on the turntable and listening from beginning to end. No skipping songs. No algorithm deciding what's next. Just music, memories, and nostalgia spinning together.
Collecting some of my favorite albums has become such a joy, and it's been a beautiful little walk down memory lane.
Then came the biggest change of all.
I moved.
I'm still getting into the groove of my new space, and every day I'm reminding myself that beautiful homes aren't created overnight.

The decorating dreams can wait.
My wallet has politely requested a quiet summer...
so I've proudly embraced my Local Lindsay era.
This season has looked a little slower, a little simpler, and a lot closer to home.
And you know what?
I'm okay with that.
Because home isn't built in one shopping trip.
It's collected over time.
One thoughtful piece.
One favorite corner.
One memory at a time.
As August begins, I'm looking forward to cooler weather, fresh inspiration, and settling into this next chapter with a little more grace than pressure.
Sometimes the most beautiful seasons aren't the ones where everything changes overnight.
Sometimes they're the ones where everything quietly finds its place.

Thank you for spending a little part of your day with me.
Whether you read these words, listen to them, or both...it truly means the world to know you're here.
Until next month's brew...
Keep finding beauty in the little pours.
May your cup stay full, your heart stay curious, and your story keep brewing beautifully.
I'm Kisha...and this has been The Dainty Brew.
Until next time...
Stay dainty.
